As a high schooler from Livingston, NJ, the only culture I can find is that of the deli across the street from the 7-Eleven which sells Pokemon cards. But as a writer and a firm believer in free knowledge, I’ve exposed myself to the beauties of the 7 UNESCO Heritage Sites through the flickering images of my computer screen. Fortunately, by traveling from the paved concrete of American suburbia to the dirt paths in the high altitudes of the Andes and the narrow, dim-lit streets in urban China, I’ve also exposed myself first-hand to a palette of culture and taste. I’m ready to paint that image for all of you that are still stuck in air-conditioned houses, waiting for the thick layer of heat on top of concrete to drive you out.
